This is the Finnish release (possibly a UK export pressing) of the Animals’ huge international hit record. It reached the #1 spot in the Finnish charts in October 1964, taking the place from the Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night”. A Finnish artist, Lasse Mårtenson, was quick to record his cover “Nousevan auringon talo”, which got to #2 in the charts the following month.
The A-side was recorded in one take, and it ran four and a half minutes, which was considered way too long at the time. They had to release a shorter, edited version (2:59) for the US market.
