The Tremeloes (with Brian Poole in the group at the time) auditioned for Decca UK on Jan. 1, 1962. The same day there was a certain 4-piece band from Liverpool auditioning for the label. The Tremeloes got a contract with Decca and The Beatles were rejected.
Formed in 1958, The Tremeloes is still active, but Munden is the only original member left in the group.
