Recording sessions: Produced by George Martin at EMI Studios, London, UK, Feb. 25, 1964. Side A instruments excluding the final version of the guitar solo were recorded at Pathé Marconi Studios, Paris, France on Jan. 29, 1964.
Highest chart positions:  Side A – US #1, UK #1; Side B – US #48

This was The Beatles' third #1 in the States and the fourth #1 in the UK.

The British Invasion had just started when this record was in the making. “I Want To Hold Your Hand” hit #1 in the States in mid-January and the band left for their first US tour on Feb. 7, 1964.

The title song is McCartney’s and the flip is Lennon’s.

List price:  Very Good+ is $15, Near Mint is $30. Many variations and different releases exist, but this is the first US release. Some unauthorized releases with yellow vinyl are listed as high as $4000 for a NM.
