R&B / blues single preceded Thomas’ only Top 10 hit in Billboard Hot 100, “Walking
the Dog” (US #10).
Rufus’
daughter, Carla Thomas hit the Top 10 before he did (“Gee Whiz”, US #10 in
1961). Supposedly it’s the only time in history for a daughter to hit that Top
10 before her father does.
