These tracks were initially recorded in many sessions using the group’s mobile studio. The sessions were not very well documented.
For an unknown reason Bill Wyman did not show up for recordings of the A-side, hence Mick Taylor played the bass and Mick Jagger played rhythm guitar.

Lind Ronstadt had a minor hit with “Tumbling Dice” in 1978 (US #32).

The flip side’s lyrics were inspired by Angela Davis.
