“Satisfaction” is the Rolling Stones’ biggest chart success and probably their best-known song globally. Otis Redding covered it in 1966 (US #31, US R&B #4, UK #33) and Aretha Franklin released her cover in 1967 (UK #37). Many other covers have been recorded, but those two are the most successful.

The original UK release (Decca F 12220, 20. August 1965) had “The Spider and the Fly” on the flip side.

Some versions of the flip side were censored by erasing the “break my ass” line
