Not much can be found about James Doherty in the net. He appears to have recorded a lot of songs, though, so he must have been quite famous in his time.
Edison Discs were made during 1912-1929. They were called diamond discs as the
phonographs that were suitable to play them were fitted with a diamond stylus. These records are 1/4" thick!
