Elvis and the band did 48 takes for the flip side. The first 38 takes
were done around midnight on 23. January 1958.
The flip was co-written by a Chicago blues legend, Willie Dixon, who played
with Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley and Little Walter in the 50’s and wrote classics
like “Spoonful”, “Little Red Rooster” and “My Babe”.
Elvis was recording the soundtrack for the film “King Creole” in January and February 1958, but these two tracks were not included there.
