“Will You Love Me Tomorrow” was the Shirelles’ first US #1 hit and it was also the first
time that an all-girl group hit the top of the charts in the States. Their
second (and last) US #1 was “Soldier Boy” in 1962. I’ll post that here later.
This was
also the first #1 hit penned by Goffin & King.
The most
notable cover of the flip side was recorded in a single take with Ringo Starr
in lead vocals at Abbey Road studios in Feb. 1963. :)
