Record #0046: The All American Boy / Rubber Dolly – BILL PARSONS

Fraternity 835 (original) USA, 1959
Words & Music by:  Side A – Bill Parsons, Orville Lunsford (alias of Bobby Bare); Side B – trad. ?
Musicians:
Bobby Bare (vocals side A), Bill Parsons (vocals side B), Luke Brandon (guitar), Sharrill Raper (bass), Kenny Walker (piano), others unknown
Recording sessions:
King Studio, Cincinnati, OH, Nov. 4, 1958
Highest chart positions:  US #2, UK #22

Both sides were credited to Bill Parsons although the A side should have been credited to his friend Bobby Bare.

Bill Parsons retired from the music business after a couple of unsuccessful singles. Bare found some success in country music later in his career.

My copy of the record is in a fairly bad shape, but it plays fine. :)

List price:  “Very Good+” is $20 and “Near Mint” is $40
