45 rpm singles do not come much older than this as they were introduced by RCA in the summer of 1949.

Cooley teamed with singer Tex Williams in the mid-40’s and they had 6 Top 10 hits in 1945-47. In 1947 Williams and most of the band left due to Cooley’s bad temper. As of that time Cooley seemed to focus more on movies and his own TV Show which ran from 1948 till 1956 (?). He didn’t have any records in the charts anymore.

Cooley would have been in dire need for serious anger management. In 1961 he murdered his second wife and got sentenced for life.

I could not find these songs in YouTube, so here’s another track Cooley did in 1947.

List price:  Not listed in Goldmine price guide. Cooley’s RCA singles appear to go for $7-$10 in eBay.
