No, this is
not a group of Scandinavian computer geeks. :) These guys were members of the
USAF.
This group
had some kind of a name issue. Their records title them as the Del Vikings and
the Dell Vikings; both variations are available with and without a hyphen. So,
there were four different ways to write the group’s name.
The very
first release of this was on a small local label ("Fee-Bee", no. 205), but when “Come
Go With Me” (originally the flip side) started to become a hit, the label
couldn’t fill the orders and Dot agreed to help (they sold the master tape to
Dot).
The title
song is listed at #441 in Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs.
List
price: Very Good+ is $15, Near Mint is $30.
The Fee-Bee copies are very rare.
