As the Mystics second biggest chart success got to US #98, I guess the group can be
declared a one-hit-wonder. This is a nice Brooklynite doo-wop piece, though. (Laurie’s
leading stars in this genre were Dion & the Belmonts from the Bronx)
Paul Simon
was briefly the lead singer of the Mystics in 1960, after the exit of Phil
Cracolici.
