Both “Dance!”
and “Gee, Golly” were penned by a pair of leading song writing partners of the
era. “Leiber-Stoller” wrote classics like “Hound Dog”, “Jailhouse Rock”, “Kansas
City”, “On Broadway”, “Spanish Harlem”, “Stand By Me” and many more.
The Coasters’ next single “Yakety Yak” (another piece from Leiber-Stoller) was a
big success, hitting #1 in US Pop & R&B charts and #12 in the UK.
Jim Taylor’s Doo Wop Heaven has a nice player with many Coasters’ songs, including
these two. (I could not find “Dance!” in YouTube.)
List price:
“Very Good+” is $20 and “Near Mint” is
$40
