“SugarTown” has been said to have the worst lyrics ever written in a top ten song.
Even Lee Hazlewood has admitted “the words are as stupid as I could get ‘em”.
Well, everyone can have their own opinion on the lyrics. To me, the line “I
never had a dog that liked me some” sounds both lame and hilarious at the same
time.
Beneath the
enigma, Sugar Town was also an LSD song.
Summer Wine on the other hand was about heavy drinking and stuff. Some
record for Sinatra’s clean image, huh? :)
List
price: “Very Good+” is $6 and “Near
Mint” is $12.
