Gary Lewis
is the son of comedian / actor Jerry Lewis. One could think that daddy pulled
some strings to make things happen for Gary and the Playboys, but allegedly they were “discovered”
by producer Thomas “Snuff” Garret (who also had Buddy Knox, Johnny Burnette,
Bobby Vee and Gene McDaniels in his roster) in 1964.
This was
their first single and it went all the way to US #1. They released four other
US Top 10 hits in 1965.
List
price: “Very Good+” is $6 and “Near
Mint” is $12
