This was
released in the US on June 15, 1968, but I have no idea where this copy is
from. I checked for similar ones in Google Images and at 45cat.com. No matches
were found. This may be some European, maybe Scandinavian release – please enter
a comment if you believe you know where this is from and when this was
released.
“Suzie Q”
was CCR’s first single release. The members had already recorded singles for
Fantasy Records as “the Golliwogs” in 1964-67. Before that they were known as “the Blue Velvets” or “Tommy Fogerty and the Blue Velvets” and recorded three
singles for Orchestra Records in 1961-62 (the third one, “Yes You Did / Now You’re
Not Mine” may not have been released; some sources say it was, others claim it
wasn’t).
List
price: Not listed in Goldmine guide; original
US release goes for $3 (VG+) and $6 (NM).
