The record
was first released on MCI 1003 (a small local label owned by Wilcox and Conway)
in May, but it didn’t go anywhere. After the release on Dot, it became Clark’s
only Top 10 hit.
“The Fool”
was actually written by Lee Hazlewood (the producer of the record), but he gave
his wife the credit.
List price:
Maroon label “Very Good+” is $25 and “Near
Mint” is $50. 2nd pressing with black label is $12.50 and $25
correspondingly.
