not the ABC song nor the one by Dusty Springfield nor Madonna. Look of Love
appears to be a very popular (and successful) title for a song.
Gore was
competing for Mercury in the same “Girl Band” genre with the ladies of Motown
and Phil Spector’s girl groups. Her first single “It’s My Party” (US #1, US
R&B #1, UK #9 in 1963) has also been her biggest chart success.
Greenwich
& Barry had already written classics such as “Da Doo Ron Ron”, “Be My Baby”
and “Baby, I Love You”.
