“Well, since my baby left me …”, the legendary line opens Elvis’ breakthrough single, which sold double platinum in the States. The song was recorded in his first RCA session, which also included “Money Honey” and a cover version of Ray Charles’ “I Got a Woman”. They did seven takes of the song.

The flip side was recorded the following day, and that session also included “I’m Counting on You”.

List price:  Very Good+ is $20, Near Mint is $40. The original release didn’t have a picture sleeve. The 2001 re-issue has one, and that’s $4 for a NM.
