Franklin
was on a roll in 1967. She had just released “Respect” (US #1) in April and “Baby
I Love You” (US #4) in July and she was going to release “Chain of Fools” (US
#2) in December. Well, 1968 wasn’t bad either with another four US Top 10 hits.
After that she didn’t have a US Top 10 hit until 1971 (“Bridge Over Troubled
Water”, US #9).
The title
song was also included on Franklin’s 1968 album “Lady Soul”, which is listed
#84 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
